When to practise yoga: practising yoga in the morning and evening is the most beneficial time of the day. Since morning is the time which charges the body with positive energy and prepares the body to work throughout the day while evening is best suited for calming the mind after a stressful day and thus helping to relax the body and spirit. However, if these timings are impossible to manage, any time of the day can be chosen for practising yoga.
Where to practice: Any place with ventilation and flat, even surface is perfect for doing yoga. Make sure there is no disturbance in the environment so as to help you focus on yourself. Any place indoors or outdoors is fine – garden, room, balcony, terrace etc. Make sure the temperature of the environment is comfortable for practicing yoga. Air conditioned rooms are not preferable as the colder environment makes the body stiff and prohibits it from stretching more.
What to wear: Any clothing made from natural fibers which light and lose fitting can be worn. It should be comfortable enough to allow the body to exercise and should not restrict the movements of the body.

- As far as yoga is concerned, it is done with empty stomach.
- Eating a healthy snack an hour prior to doing yoga or a heavy meal before 2-3 hours is the goal as it allows the body to utilize those nutrients without compromising on the energy aspect of the body.
- It is advisable to drink water before and after doing yoga to keep the body well hydrated.
- Restrict yourself from drinking in between so as to avoid losing concentration over the postures and breathing patterns.
